Vodafone Launches New Long-Term Prepaid Plan of Rs 189 to Offer Calling and Data Benefits

Check out Vodafone's next plans

After its merger with Idea Cellular recently, Vodafone has launched a new long-term prepaid plan for its users to provide both calling and data benefits. Notably, the British multinational company recently launched two new prepaid plans priced at Rs 99 and Rs 109 to offer unlimited calling benefits. These plans were designed for customers who prefer voice calling over data benefits.

Coming to the Rs 189 prepaid plan, it will offer both data and calling benefits to the subscribers. The plan offers unlimited voice calling but with a FUP limit. The subscribers will get 250 minutes of free calling per day and a maximum of 1000 minutes per week. After reaching the FUP limit for the day or week, users will be charged as per their base tariff plan. In addition to the calling benefits, the plan also offers 2GB of 3G/4G data with a long validity period of 56 days.

This plan, however, does not offer any SMS message benefits unlike other plans from Vodafone. To compare this plan with the competitors, Reliance Jio has a prepaid plan priced at Rs 198. The plan offers truly unlimited local/STD and roaming call benefits without any FUP limits. The plan also offers 56GB of high-speed 4G data along with 100SMS messages per day. In addition, it also offers a free subscription to Jio’s suite of apps and comes with a validity of 28 days.

It may be recalled that Vodafone has also launched a prepaid plan priced at Rs 279 in some circles. This plan offers unlimited calling benefits along with 100SMS messages per day and 4GB of 3G/4G data. The plan has a long validity period of 84 days.

In order to compete with Reliance Jio, that has taken the telecom industry by storm, Vodafone has stated to devise its plans carefully and effectively with various benefits. While heavy internet users can use the plan priced at Rs 279, people who prefer voice calling more than data can subscribe to the Rs 99 and Rs 109 plans.
