OnePlus 6T Starts Receiving OxygenOS 9.0.6 Update with Improved Unlocking Features, Optimized Image Processing and More

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has started rolling out a new software update for the OnePlus 6T that brings a host of improvements and bug fixes. The OxygenOS 9.0.6 update for the OnePlus 6T brings optimized image processing capabilities, improved unlocking features, and some bug fixes and stability improvements to further enhance the experience of the users. The company recently rolled out the OxygenOS 9.0.5 update that brings improvements to the in-display fingerprint sensor along with some unspecified bug fixes.

Among the new features, OnePlus has notified on its official forum that the OxygenOS 9.0.6 update for the OnePlus 6T improves the unlocking experience of the users. This indicates that the new update brings improvements to the in-display fingerprint sensor aided unlocking mechanism on the OnePlus 6T. Additionally, the update also brings optimized image processing capabilities. This will enable the users to take better shots using the dual camera setup.

Other features in the OxygenOS 9.0.6 update includes optimized battery power consumption to provide a longer standby time. OnePlus has also fixed issues that were occurring while adding an APN on Verizon network in the US. The update also fixes a bug that was blocking notifications from Google Play to be displayed on the screen.

Just like the previous software rollouts, the OxygenOS 9.0.6 update is being rolled out in phases which means it will take a few days to reach all the users. However, the company is expected to launch the rollout on a global scale in the coming days.

Users can check for the availability of the update on their OnePlus 6T device by heading to Settings> System Updates. However, before installing the update, it is recommended to take a backup of all the data on the phone to prevent accidental deletion. The users should also make sure that there is at least 50% battery charge remaining before proceeding with the update.
