Micromax-owned brand YU is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the upcoming launch event of world’s “most powerful smartphone” Yutopia premium handset. The company recently released a teaser which indicates that the phone will come with a full metal body frame, not with plastic or sandstone (unlike OnePlus 2) and the device is expected to hit the market sometime next month to cash in on the upcoming festive season.
In their latest published teaser, Micromax appears to be confirming a Quad HD display on the YU Yutopia smartphone. The company also took a pot shot at OnePlus 2 on Wednesday in a Facebook post that read, “Calling a 1080p Display a 2016 Flagship killer? #WhySettle #YUTOPIA.” That Facebook post also included a picture of the OnePlus 2 handset and took a dig on the Chinese company’s claim of calling the OnePlus 2 a ‘2016 flagship killer.’
According to the news and rumors, the YU Yutopia will be the company’s first smartphone featuring QHD display. As the last teaser had suggested, the Yutopia will sport a metal build which would be company’s first handset made out of metal. Until now, the Yuphoria, Yu Yureka, , Yureka Plus and Yunique all came with a plastic body design.
Micromax’s founder Rahul Sharma in a Twitter post earlier this month also claimed the Yu Yutopia as the “most powerful phone on the planet”; and proudly mentioning it will be from India. With the metal build, an expensive (with respect to the other Micromax phones) price tag could also be expected.
A high-end smartphone from Micromax’s subsidiary brand YU, dubbed as Yu5050, was spotted in Geekbench listings as well as at various Indian import/ export manifest sites just ahead of the Yu Yunique launch in September .The Yu5050 may be that high-end handset the company has been teasing with a name of Yutopia.
The key features about the YU Yutopia that are being speculated include 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone could flaunt a 5.2-inch full-HD 2K display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and would run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based build of Cyanogen OS. The YU Yutopia scored 1353 in single-core test and 4622 in the multi-core test.

On the connectivity aspect, Yutopia will feature dual-SIM support and will house 16 GB internal memory and upto 64 GB of microSD card support. As the per the cameras are concerned Yu Yutopia will sport a 21 mega pixel rear camera with auto focus, LED flash and Sony IMX135 CMOS Sensor facilities. There will be a 5 mega pixel front camera featured into the phone to take crystal clear selfies.The phone will be available in various colors.

Though there is no official confirmation on the Yutopia’s price yet, but we assume that the phone will cost us Rs.20000 approximately and will be available for sale from the mid week of November just before the Diwali.
