Micromax, the home-grown smarptphone manufacturer has added a new device to it’s famous Canvas series known as Micromax Canvas 5. It was a long time ago when we witnessed a flagship device coming under the Canvas series but finally the day has come when we are getting a new device!
Micromax already teased the device few days back on their Social media platforms and it was clearly written that they were going to unveil Canvas 5. The device comes at a price of Rs. 11,999 which translates to around $183. With such a pricing, the device is definitely going to make it diffulct for the buyers to choose their next smartphone. We already have devices like the Xiaomi Mi4i, Mi4 and Asus Zenfone 2 Laser in this price range. But the competition is just not limited here, the company aims to compete with One Plus X with this device along with Moto X Play which are priced a lot higher as compared to Micromax Canvas 5.
Looking at the price tag of Canvas 5 will make you think that the device doesn’t carries much but you are WRONG! The device comes with a plethora of features and specifications.
Micromax Canvas 5 comes with a MediaTek processor under the hood, to be more technical, it comes with a MTK6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. Canvas 5 even boasts a 5.2″ Full HD Display panel on the front (1920 x 1080 pixels, 423 ppi) to give you better viewing experience. Canvas 5 also comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating along with a 2.5D touch panel, similar to the Apple and Oppo devices.. Apart from an FHD display, the device even comes with a 13MP camera on the back which supports auto focus and an LED flash. On the front, users will get a 5MP shooter along with LED flash to click selfies even in dark.
As far as the storage is concerned, the device will come with 16GB of internal storage, which may not sound so great as only 10-12GB would be allowed for the user to use, it can be further expanded up to 64GB with the help of a Micro-SD Card.
This might device is powered by a 2900mAh battery which sounds decent for a device worth Rs. 11,999.
Other devices in the similar price offer similar specs but yes, Micromax Canvas 5 gets an edge above the other devices. As far as the comparison with One Plus X and Moto X Play is concerned, it is going to be a really tough competition for the device. We can’t ignore the fact that Canvas 5 is just priced at Rs. 11,999 whereas the other two are priced above Rs. 15,000.
