Alcatel held a pre-MWC event where they launched three of their new devices – Idol 4 and Idol 4s and 2-in-1 Windows 10 offering – the Plus 10. One key highlight of Alcatel Idol 4s is that the retail package includes a VR headset. As of the price, the Idol 4 costs EUR 279 (roughly Rs. 21,300) while the Idol 4s costs EUR 449 (Rs. 34,300). the announcement came just after the company had re-branded itself from Alcatel OneTouch.
The Alcatel Idol 4 and Idol 4S has 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution IPS LTPS display and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Alcatel Idol 4 is supported by a powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, which comes clubbed with 3GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. The devices sport 16GB in-built storage capacity which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card. As for camera, the Alcatol Idol 4 has 8-megapixel front-facing camera with flash and real-time face beautification, as well as 13-megapixel rear camera that comes with touch focus. The handset houses 2610mAh battery, measure 147×72.5×7.1mm and weighs 135 grams.

The Alcatel Idol 4s, on the other hand, is slightly more powerful, therefore has 5.5-inch (1440×2560 pixels) QHD resolution Amoled display. It’s powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and is clubbed with 3GB RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. The devices sport 32GB in-built storage capacity which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card. As for camera, the Alcatol Idol 4s has 8-megapixel front-facing camera with flash and real-time face beautification, as well as 13-megapixel rear camera that comes with touch focus. The handset houses 3000mAh battery, measures 153.9×75.4×6.99mm, weighs 149 grams. The Alcatel Idol 4s comes with Virtual Reality headset. And both Idol 4 and Idol 4s is available in four colours – Gold, Dark Grey, Rose Gold, and Metal Silver. Both the devices offer excellent connectivity – 4G LTE (Cat 4.), Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC and Micro-USB (with OTG).

Now for, Alcatel plus 10 comes with 10-inch IPS display with 800×1280 pixels resolution. The Windows 10 2-in-1 is powered by a quad-core Intel processor clubbed with 32GB built-in storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot. The device is powered by 8410mAh battery with the promise of delivering 8 hours of working time. In addition to all these the tablet with a detachable 4G LTE keyboard that with a detachable 4G LTE keyboard. It also features Micro-USB, standard USB and Micro-HDMI.
“Plus 10 is Alcatel’s first 2-in-1 device with Windows 10, and we’re very proud of all the functionality we’ve built into it,” said Vittorio Di Mauro, General Manager of Smart Connectivity at Alcatel. “Plus 10 goes everywhere I go – the house, the office, even the park! It’s a fun product that sparks a lot of conversation (and jealousy).”
