Microsoft Lumia 650 Unveiled at MWC 2016

Microsoft made its presence felt at the Mobile World Conference 2016 by showing off Lumia 650. Upon first glance the phone looks and feels amazing and far better than the Lumia 950, which was kept right beside the new Lumia 650 on the stand. This is definitely a major upgrade form the last Lumia that had despising looks. Lumia 950 looked like a low-end, bland and plasticky device that despite its terrible look was priced at $650. Its probably because of these flaws that Microsoft has began paying attention and effort on the design of its latest budget Lumia.

You’d be surprised to know that the Lumia 650 is priced at just $199. Seeing this stunning premium design, one can say that the price tag is quiet impressive. As for the design, the handset’s 6.9mm thin aluminum frame makes it look very sturdy and stylish. Its surprising that Microsoft didn’t pick this device for form its premium devices. Aimed at business users, the device, “also allows IT to test the latest Windows 10 Mobile updates against critical line of business systems and apps, before you distribute to end users via MDM”.

At just 122 grams, the Microsoft Lumia 650 is quiet light-weighted and has 5″ 720p quality OLED display. According to Microsoft this is “bright and crisp” and that “colour pops” while blacks are “deep and clear”. Being a mid-range device, its powerered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 processor which is clubbed with 1GB of RAM. The device comes with Quad-core Cortex-A7 at 1.3GHz. The rear camera is 8-megapixel with 28mm lens, 1/4″ sensor and that allows 720p video recording. While the selfie camera is 5-megapixels which also allows 720p video recording. Tech experts who used the handset are of the opinion that the camera interface is reasonably snappy.

The app load easy and functions quiet easily. With swiping gestures the apps moves about like breezing through an open field. Although the camera takes time to render the pages as you span and zoom which is due low-power chipset and and a single gig of RAM. The camera has a manual control mode that includes manual focusing. Along with these one can expect all Windows 10 software perks like Microsoft Office 365 suite, Cortana voice assistant and cloud storage via OneDrive. The Microsoft Lumia 650 will be available in Europe from 18 February from £150.

Wrap Up: 

Microsoft has already released its Lumia 950, 950 XL and 550, but the 650 is the first handset for 2016. The handset looks like a nice catch. At least its far better than its predecessors – the Lumia 950. We are expecting that after Europe the device will make its way to the rest of the world and soon fans can get one Lumia 650 for themselves.
