Microsoft Surface Phones have been in the news for quite a while now. Primarily this is because of the fact that rumours have revealed that the latest devices from Microsoft might get released in the early part of the year 2017. Now fresh talks have announced that Microsoft Surface Pro 5, which also is expected to be released in Spring of 2017, might run on an Android operating system.
Microsoft has until now produced smartphones and other electronic gadgets based on Windows operating system exclusively. But the news that the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might have an Android operating system is quite mindblowing. The tablet was expected to be released in October 2016, but Microsoft released only an updated version of the Surface Book during the launch of Microsoft hardware.
But that disappointment of not getting a new tablet this year from Microsoft may just get healed up if we go by the rumours. An Android operating system is something alien for Microsoft. But with other brands like Lenovo have already adopted this new trend of availing both options of Android or Windows operating system in their tablets. Lenovo Yoga Book is a great example of that. It is available with both Windows and Android operating systems. And as the rumours suggest Microsoft is also looking to follow that trend. Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might just come with that sort of a configuration and run on both Android and Windows operating system.
Now this seems a great move from the US-based brand because many fans of Microsoft have often been found wanting as all the popular apps and games are often not made available to the users. Well, that might change, and this is going to a welcome change from Microsoft. Besides, there are also, few new features are supposed to be coming along with the launch of Microsoft Surface Pro 5. One of the things that are going to be updated is the processor. It is expected that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will have the Intel Kaby Lake processor which are going to come in the market this year. So this gives an opportunity to Microsoft to have a go with this processor before incorporating it with the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
Also, it is reported that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might come with a Windows 10 Redstone update. Also, the tablet is rumoured to be coming with a rechargeable stylus and fingerprint scanning with Pixelsense technology. Taking all these into account, it seems that Microsoft is working hard before the release of this device in the later part of the year 2017.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is going to be a big bet for its maker since it is going to be the first such device from Microsoft that is rumoured to be having both the Windows and Android operating systems. It is going to be a great gift from Microsoft for the users who have an affinity for Microsoft and also likes to have Android as the operating system.
