We have reached the last month in the year 2016 and there more news coming in from the world of technology. The latest news has revealed that AMD Zen CPUs will be having its official unveiling in this month only within a few days. And this really sets the stage for an interesting conflict between the CPUs produced by AMD and other brands which are slated to come out early next year.
It is reported that the fans of AMD manufactured devices will not have to wait for long in order to get new updates on the latest upcoming CPU. And it could well be in the second week of this month. Reports have suggested that December 13 is going to be the day when AMD will officially unveil the Zen-based Summit Ridge processor.
Previously it had been reported that the official unveiling of the concerned device would be taking place at some time in the coming year. But the latest reports have shattered the previous speculations of the device coming out in 2017. This is really going to make the fans of AMD extremely jubilant who have been waiting for some updates regarding the AMD Zen CPUs which are slated to come with Summit Ridge processors.
The event will begin at around 1 PM Pacific Time, and Geoff Keighley has been chosen as the host of the event. Among the notable invitees, there will be Peter Dager, a former member of the Evil Geniuses eSports team, who will be there to launch the AMD Zen CPUS.
It has also been reported that AMD will bring onto the market four new CPUs. These CPUs are going to be featuring two octa-core chips. It has been promised that there will be a special enhancement of the power usage of the CPUs and other caching. The previous model of AMD, the Excavator x86 could handle 40 percent fewer instructions than the upcoming Summit Ridge processor.
It is reported that the octa-core CPU will come out with a price tag of $500 which is also the highest-end processor. Besides that there will be lower-end one with 8-core as well which will have a price tag of $350. Other than these two devices there will be two other processors- the hexacore SR 5 which will be priced at $250 and a quad-core SR3 which is reported to be having a price tag of $150.
It remains to be seen how the new AMD Zen CPUs work once it comes out on the market. Also, it remains to be seen how it fares when it is pitted against the upcoming Kaby Lake processor from Intel which is also reported to be coming out in the next year. But whatever happens, one thing is for sure we are going to watch a mouth-watering conflict on the basis of performance between the manufacturers of two of the world’s best CPU processors.
