iMac 2017 to be Unveiled at the CES 2017: Check out the Key Specs, Features & Price

iMac 2017: Apple has been working on the next-gen iMacs for some time now. Fans were disappointed, however, when the all-in-one device did not debut at the company’s October event, fanning rumours that the revamped lineup of the iMac would be launched in 2017 and not earlier. It seems certain that this upgraded iMac will possibly be unveiled at the next Apple event in March 2017, which could also witness the arrival of the iPad Pro 2. We have been covering the updated iMac 2017 religiously. Apple fans would be hoping that the iMac 2017 does not disappoint on this count and it certainly is justified.

The new Apple iMac 2017

iMac 2017 Specs:

The iMac 2017 will boast of a 5K Retina display for the 27-inch model, just like the 2015 model had featured. The new iMac will offer support for an OLED Touch Bar like we reported earlier which Apple has also included in its new MacBook Pro. As we reported earlier, the iMac will house Intel’s Kaby Lake processor. These processors, nonetheless, are not expected to be ready to use until at least the end of this year. This has been cited as the primary reason for the iMac not showing up at Apple’s October event. There are murmurs that  Apple could also bypass the Kaby Lake processor in favour of Intel’s Xeon. This processor is usually deployed in commercial workplaces like top-end workstations and servers, which are apparently equipped to support error-correcting code memory, aiding faster processing. This change in the processor will also end up hiking the iMac 2017’s expected price. The Kaby Lake will be featured at the  “Consumer Electronics Show 2017” in Las Vegas.

iMac 2017 Features:

The loaded iMac 2017 will pack in support for VR (Virtual Reality) and a powerful GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to offer users an experience of a lifetime. The new device will house either a Polaris 11 or Polaris 10 GPU from AMD. Deployment of alleged full flash storage will make the new AIO desktop computer slimmer and lighter than the previous versions. Users can expect a Touch ID, Touch Bar and a USB Type-C ‘Thunderbolt’ with  3 ports. Other details have not changed from the last time we covered the new iMac 2017.

iMac 2017 Release Date and Rumoured Price:

The online rumour mills are rife with speculation that the new iMacs would be making their debut in early 2017, possibly in the first quarter itself. There are hints at the possibility of a CES 2017 debut for the iMacs, where they might share the spotlight alongside the new Intel processor. We cannot discount nor verify the possibility. Upon considering the fact that Apple has launched devices in March not very long ago, this does not seem improbable. The new devices will probably be priced upwards of $3299, according to recent leaks.
