Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 Render, Specification and Price Leaked Online

We have been covering the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) for some time and it seems some press renders, specs and rumoured pricing of the device has been revealed by tipsters. The Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 will be released in January 2017 in four colour variants: Pink, Gold, Black and Blue. The phone will be priced between $350and $400 if rumours are to be believed.

Slashleaks reports that the Galaxy A5 will sport a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) screen and will have dimensions of 145 x 71 x 7.8 mm. Powering it will be an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7880 processor with A57 cores each with a frequency of 1.9GHz. The smartphone will sport 16 MP front and rear cameras. Expect 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. A dependable 3000mAh battery is also to be shipped with the new phone. The Galaxy A5 is IP68 certified, which means that the device is water-resistant and can survive being submerged in static water. The certification also means that the device can resist being placed up to 5 feet deep in water for 30 minutes. The screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

A video had emerged earlier, posted by a certain Neil Potgieter, who said he was ‘reviewing’  the 2017 Samsung Galaxy A5. That was possibly a prototype and not the real thing since it is yet to be released.  Besides, the video showed the phone running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but we have reason to believe that the 2017 Galaxy A5 may well have Android 7.0 Nougat installed. The phone was also Wi-Fi certified a few months back, as we reported. Other built-in features will include a Proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and a gyroscope.

The new Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is expected to take the mid-range smartphone business by storm. The impressive features, pocket-friendly dimensions, water-resistance and the powerful processor will be added attractions to the potential customer. The leak suggested the phone would be priced at 2699 Yuan or $390, lesser than we previously expected. We ask you to take these developments with a pinch of salt as these rumours may yet turn out to be untrue.
