Assassin’s Creed Origins Revealed by Ubisoft at E3 2017

After a fairly long hiatus for an Assassin’s Creed entry, Ubisoft has finally let fans get a good look at Assassin’s Creed Origins. From the trailer and the gameplay reveals that have been rolled out over E3 2017, it looks like the break that the developers had opted for to rethink the franchise’s direction has well paid off.

Ubisoft had first announced a brand new Assassin’s Creed entry during their earnings call back in May, eventually releasing some logo art on their social media platforms. Just as they had promised, this year’s E3 has been very rewarding in terms of related information. It is to be noted, however, that much of the official information seems to align with the leaks that have been doing the rounds since last year. The next Assassin’s Creed game will indeed be called Assassin’s Creed Origins, and it will be set in ancient Egypt to explore the roots of the formation of the Assassin’s Guild. The title will be released for the Xbox One, PS4, and Windows PC on October 27.

The reveal trailer shows off much of the open world expanse of the new game, and we see a fair chunk of the deserts, ancient cities, and jungles. There is a lot of focus on the waterways too, which according to what we had heard before will have a lot of importance in Origins. We see a lot of ferocious beasts that are native to the land of the Nile, including crocodiles, hippos, lions, and hyenas. Some of the more docile ones include flamingos and gazelles.

But while the animals set the stage, the focus quickly moves to the humans populating the area. We see all kinds of them- laborers toiling to erect structures, priests worshiping the ancient deities, and of course, the powerful and dangerous establishing their dominance.

According to official information, the new game will center around a man who works and fights to protect the community. His combat abilities include both stealth and open fights, and he will have a lot of help from his pet eagle in getting the lay of the land from a vantage point. We hope new information to surface soon about Assassin’s Creed Origins, along with new features and gameplay reveals.
