Sharp Aquos R With 16Megapixel Selfie Camera Passes Through The FCC

Sharp Aquos R has passed its way through the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), which means that the device could be on its way to the USA in the near future. This high-end smartphone could prove to be an interesting addition to the US mobile market. Among its many high-profile features is its 16megapixel selfie camera.

Sharp Aquos R features a 5.3-inch display along with a 2560*1440 pixel resolution.

Sharp Aquos R was announced two months back, way in April 2017. At the time of its launch, the developers were skeptical to the fact that whether it would see the light of the day outside Japan. But, with the device getting a clearance from FCC process, it seems that the possibility of a USA release could be real. The precise model that FCC listed is the SH-03J edition, which is basically an NTT DoCoMo version.

Sharp Aquos has its main base in Japan, but it also caters to the American market. Speaking of its network support, FCC also has attached a documentation to its listing that supports FDD Band 5, that is generally associated with US Cellular at the 4G LTE level.

The device features a 5.3-inch display along with a 2560*1440 pixel resolution. Besides, the display is also HDR10 compliant. Speaking of its storage, it comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC, as per Android Headlines.

Sharp Aquos R is backed by a 3,160mAh battery. It also has connectivity options for USB Type-C connectivity and Quick Charge 3.0 support. Coming to its camera, as mentioned earlier, it comes with a 16megapixel secondary selfie camera. It also features a 22.6megapixel primary camera. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and has its own AI features. It comes with IP certifications against both water and dust. The price of the device is however still unknown. How the device fares in the American market remains to be seen.
