Xiaomi Mi 5X to Launch on July 26 with Dual Camera Set Up & MIUI 9

Yesterday we reported about a new Xiaomi Mi 5X leaked poster that hints at a release date for the handset. Looks like we were on-spot because Xiaomi has sent invites for the launch of Mi 5X on July 26. As you can see in the picture below, Chinese celebrity Kris Wu is holding the phone with its rear facing us. This leads us to draw a few conclusions regarding the features of the smartphone.

The official Xiaomi Mi 5X poster

The phone of the poster tells us, that the Xiaomo Mi 5X will sport a dual camera set up along with a fingerprint scanner. The handset will also feature the all new MIUI 9. New leaks suggest that the MIUI 9 is bringing a number of new themes available along with a redesign of the icons. Apart from this, the leaks don’t show any other radical change in design which makes it all the more exciting to know that the new MIUI 9 will be revealed this month.

Coming back to Xiaomi Mi 5X, of course, there is no official word on what’s to come but there are several speculations on what we can possibly expect from the handset. Based on the previous leak, we can say that it will sport a 5.5-inch full HD display, 4 GB of RAM and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset.

Xiaomi Mi 5X will have variant or variants and as per reports, the higher variant is expected to offer 6 GB of RAM along with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC processor. It’ll feature a 12-megapixel dual camera set up with a Sony IMX386 sensor and a Samsung S5k3m3 sensor. It’s interesting to note that the selfie camera is even more powerful and stands at 16-megapixel. The device is expected to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat overlaid with MIUI 9 and costs 1,999 Yuan ($295 approx). We are hoping that the premium version will come with the fingerprint scanner but whether it’ll sport a larger display than 5.5-inch is yet to be seen.
