Unnamed Xiaomi Smartphone to Arrive in India: Could Be the Mi 5X

Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi is one of the busiest brands in manufacturing quality smartphones over the past few years. Until now four of Xiaomi’s dual camera handsets have been launched by the company, and now, envisions offer us that one of Xiaomi’s dual camera smartphone will be available in the Indian market shelves shortly.

Vice president of Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain shared about the upcoming Xiaomi handset on Twitter to launch in India. On August 8, we got his tweet stating, “Can’t wait for you guys to check out Xiaomi’s first dual-camera phone in India! Coming next month… Can you guess which one?”

Although the tweet doesn’t include any Xiaomi device, an image of himself can be seen with a blurry effect in the background, supposedly teasing the imaging specs of the upcoming device. From the tweet, one can expect Xiaomi’s first dual camera smartphone in India in the coming month, i.e. September. Reportedly, it be the Xiaomi Mi 5X as the Mi 5S is the old one and Mi 6 will not get released in India.

Specification wise, Mi 5X sports a 5.5 inches display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The device is powered by Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, under the hood. The device runs the latest Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS and sports a RAM of 4 GB alongside 64 GB native storage.

On the optic front, the mid-range smartphone features a primary dual camera of 12 MP,  dual-LED flash, 2x optical zoom, and phase detection autofocus. On the contrary, the smartphone’s selfie shooter comes with a secondary camera of 5 MP. Other imaging aspects include face detection, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama and more.

Xiaomi Mi 5X comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded on the rear panel alongside other features like compass, accelerometer, proximity, etc. The mid-range device comes in three color variants- Gold, Rose Gold and Black. Indian fans can get their hands on the device with a price tag of approximately Rs 15,000 (200 EUR).
