Xbox One X Pre-orders Could Go Live This Sunday

Microsoft has sufficiently delayed opening pre-orders for the Xbox One X, no longer a recent revelation. The console was first teased during E3 last year as Project Scorpio and has been renamed and given a launch date at E3 2017. However, the buzz of questions regarding when the company would actually enable pre-orders for the newest addition to the Xbox family swelled as the scheduled November 7 launch inched closer. Now, it seems, we have an answer to that.

According to Tom Warren (The Verge), the Xbox One X pre-orders will open up on Sunday, August 20. You can take a look at the tweet (via Gamespot) below. Meanwhile, that is the date when Microsoft will hold their Gamescom 2017 press conference. The company has also recently started teasing the event with a new video that promises our first look at many new titles and their trailers, as well as news about the most hotly anticipated games. It also said that fans would be able to “get closer than ever to the power of the Xbox One X.”

Additionally, Microsoft‘s Phil Spencer has also confirmed that support will be announced for some of the biggest games at the upcoming event. However, all communication from Microsoft regarding the pre-order details for Xbox One X simply provides August 20 as the date when they would be revealed, not go live.

The powerful new console from Microsoft has faced delays on the certification front. But replying to a fan’s question on Twitter last month about when the process would start, Spencer had confirmed that all approvals were in place and the wait would not be long. Reports have since strongly suggested that pre-orders will open up in the wake of Gamescom 2017.

There is one bad news, however, for those who have been waiting to get their hands on Crackdown 3 along with the new console. Microsoft’s Publishing General Manager, Shannon Loftis, has confirmed that the game has been pushed back to an unspecified Spring 2018 date to be able to deliver according to expectations.
