A new Gionee smartphone, dubbed the Gionee GN5007, has now been spotted on TENAA. Some specs have also been revealed. Gionee has been on a spree lately, as it launched the Gionee X1s in India a few days ago. Gionee is also set to unveil its first full-screen, bezel-less phone, the Gionee M7, which in itself is a variant of the Gionee M7 Power, a device coming to Thailand soon.
From what we saw of the Gionee GN5007 on TENAA, it appears to be a mid-range device which will be able to deliver a pretty good performance. Gionee has been known for its budget smartphones with decent specs and features and which are also affordable.
The newGionee GN5007, which is sure to have a different name once it enters into production, has a 6-inch HD+ display that boasts of a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels besides an aspect ratio of 18:9. Such an aspect ratio ensures that the smartphone is ideal for watching wide-screen movies. The report also suggests that the new Gionee device will be running on a 1.4GHz octa-core processor which is paired with 4GB RAM and a slightly disappointing 32GB of storage space This storage space can be increased to up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card.
Also, the TENAA listing showed off the optics aboard the new phone. The Gionee GN5007 is set to have a single 13MP sensor on the rear as well as an 8MP front snapper for selfies and video calling. What’s interesting about the new phone is the fact that it has a gigantic 5,000 mAh battery. It is the size of this battery which seems to indicate that this is a variant of the Gionee M7 Power; that device, however, has dual rear cameras.
Weighing in at just 187 grams in weight and only 8.6mm thick, we believe that this new Gionee device will support VoLTE and may run on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
