Seems like all the major smartphone manufacturers of the world are busy making their new handsets with the Android One program. The recent reports suggest that after Xiaomi and Motorola, HTC is working on a handset which will come with the Android One version. The Taiwanese tech giant, with the collaboration of Google, is working on the previously launched HTC U11 Life handset to release the handset under the Android One program. Similarly, Motorola is going to rebrand the recently launched Moto X4 as the first Moto-Android One handset of the company.

The developer LlabTooFeR who is famous for its HTC leaks first tweeted about the upcoming Android One version of the HTC U11 Life or HTC Ocean Life. The tweet reads, “HTC Ocean_Life will be released under Android One program. It will lose most of the HTC apps and run stock Android O with Sense 9.0_A1.” Just like the motto of the Android One program, the handset will run on the latest stock Android OS, Android 8.0 Oreo and there will be no unnecessary applications installed on the smartphone. Notable, HTC has also announced a couple of days ago that three of the company’s premium handset, HTC U, HTC U11 & HTC U Ultra will be updated to Android Oreo very soon.

Coming to the specs of the upcoming Android One HTC handset which is expected to make its debut in the coming few months, the device is going to feature a minimal layer of Sense 9.0 A1 customizations. Although, the handset might sport some bloatware from HTC. Another tweet from LlabTooFeR reads, “However it will keep some features like EdgeSense, USonic, Zoe and HTC Camera.”

The notable leakster Evan Blass has also confirmed the existence of this HTC-Android One smartphone. Blass leaked an image of the upcoming HTC U11 Life Android One handset yesterday, and according to that image, the handset is expected to flaunt a 5.2-inch full HD screen. Moreover, a fingerprint sensor is also expected to come with the handset at the front side of the device, embedded just below the Home button.

The forthcoming smartphone is pegged to be powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with 32Gb of native storage capacity which is further expandable up to 2TB through microSD card slot. On the optics front, the HTC U11 Life Android One handset is expected to feature 16-megapixel sensors at both the front and the rear end of the device.
