A new device, believed to be the Nokia 9, has been spotted on popular benchmarking site GFXBench. This might just be Nokia’s latest offering after we reported yesterday of how the Nokia 8 would soon come to India. In fact, we are no stranger to the Nokia 9 device as well: it seems to have suffered its own fair share of leaks. We had reported in April how the phone could release in the third quarter of this financial year.
From previous reports, we had been led to believe that the Nokia 9 would run on the Android 7.1.1 OS. Surprisingly, we have now spotted the same device on the benchmarking site and it has been shown to be running on the latest Android 8.0.0 Oreo. This means that Nokia, whose devices are currently manufactured by HMD Global, its Finnish compatriot, will try and push the new Nokia 9 into the flagship category.
As of now, we do not know whether this new device will come with Android Oreo support right out-of-the-box or will be upgraded via OTA support. What we did learn from the GFXBench listing was that the new device would clearly have a few very top notch features.
The news of the new Nokia 9 having been spotted was first reported by The Android Soul. Having said that, there is not much available information on the upcoming device. We believe that this new device will come with at least a 5.5-inch to a 5.7-inch display. It will be powered by the very powerful but supremely efficient Snapdragon 835 SoC which is expected to come paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
The Nokia 9 may come with an internal storage capacity of 128GB which will be expandable further thanks to a microSD card. There might be a vertically arranged dual camera setup with the Carl Zeiss branding atop. Watch this space for more updates.
