If the latest report is what we are to consider, the Netherland based tech giant, Philips, has announced a new entry-level smartphone in the Chinese markets, which has been dubbed the Philips X596. The tech industry has already seen this same to get spotted on TENAA certification, prior to a month. The best part of the Philips X596 is that it comes with a 5.5-inches display alongside a 16-megapixel camera.
Philips X596 Key Specs and Features
In the design language, the Philips X596 features a body based on aviation grade aluminum alloy material. With an inclusion of a 2.5D curved touchscreen, the Philips X596 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display along with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There’s an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, under its hood. With that, there’s also a combination of 4GB of RAM along with two options on the native storage front- either 32GB or 64GB of default storage.
On the optics front, the Philips X596 houses a 16-megapixel rear camera with Auto Focus, LED Flash, the support for 1080p video recording (as reported here). Up front, there’s the same 16-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter. Other features also include a fingerprint sensor embedded right below the camera set up on the rear panel. Connectivity wise, there are options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Philips X596 runs the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out of its box. It is powered by a mammoth 4,000mAh battery and also supports 9V/2A fast charging. Weighing 177.8 grams, the device might get an Android 8.0 Oreo later. As per pricing and availability, the Philips X596 comes in two variants. While the 4GB RAM + 32GB storage model comes with a price tag of 1,299 Yuan (approx. $171), the other 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version is priced at 1,499 Yuan (which is approx. $227).
