Ever since the launch of the Reliance Jio juggernaut, all the domestic telecom players in India have been on the edge. For, Jio was expected to usurp all manners of customers. With its super-cheap plans, R-Jio was very much in the lead of winning the “Who has the most customers?” race very quickly. To counter that, Tata Docomo has now launched a new pan worth Rs 349.
Tata Docomo was in the race much before the newer R-Jio giant came along. This led to a panic reaction breaking out on part of the various networks. Now, with the new plan in place, Tata Docomo hopes to garner back some of its former glory. The plan costs Rs 349 and is valid for 56 days. It will give you 1GB of data per day for 56 days. The catch is that this data is 2G or 3G data and not 4G data.
Also included in the plan is 8000 minutes of free outgoing calls which can be made to any network. Once past that, the customer must pay 30 paise per minute for their calls besides 10 paise/ MB for their data usage. Tata Docomo’s new plan is also applicable for its Prepaid users and can be used in states where the telco has operations. This includes Karnataka, the Southern states of Andhra Pradesh &Telangana, as well as Kerala, Mumbai circle, Maharashtra, the Western state of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, the Central state of Uttar Pradesh (East & West), besides Punjab and Haryana, and the Eastern states of Orissa and West Bengal.
In another new plan, Tata Docomo will give all its users unlimited local calls plus STD calls together with 2G data for a total of 28 days. This will be made available for Rs 148. Reliance Jio also has a similar pricing structure: it offers unlimited voice calls as well as 2GB data every day for 28 days.
