Gionee has finally managed to get its next flagship offering, the Gionee M7 Plus, certified by TENAA. The TENAA certification is essential for any phone to be launched internationally and is an important step in Gionee’s plans for the future. In fact, the Gionee M7 Plus has been on the receiving end of many leaks and news, including when some hands-on images were leaked. This is the first time, however, that we have got any indication of what features the smartphone may be carried aboard.
One of the first things that get noticed when one looks at the Gionee M7 Plus is the fact that it looks different. This is because it has a metallic build and there is also a leather back, which renders the unique image to the phone. This is a marked departure from most traditional smartphones.
Gionee M7 Plus Specs and Features
The first impressions of the specs and features of the new Gionee device are that it will be a decent addition to the mid-range phones of Gionee, which has a history of launching some decent devices. The new M7 Plus is a variant of the Gionee M7 which was unveiled recently.
The new device has a beautiful and quite large 6.43-inch FullView display that has a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, as well as an 18:9 aspect ratio. Thanks to the 2.5D curved glass layered on top, we believe that this phone will have a seamless display and will be great for watching widescreen movies. Under the hood, we appreciate the fact that there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, which is also coupled with 6GB RAM and a decent 64GB of internal storage.
As always, the new Gionee M7 Plus will have great optics and camera features. Onboard are two 16-megapixel lenses on the rear while the front gets an 8-megapixel shooter. Unfortunately, this device does not have the Android Oreo and runs on the Android 7.1 Nougat overlaid with the proprietary Amigo OS 5.0. No details on the price or the battery capacity are currently known.
