Taiwanese electronics company, HTC, had launched the first version of its flagship U series smartphones, the U11 in May last year. It is expected to follow the same trend this year with its successor the U12 in May this year as well. A design leak has revealed the new flagship device in new glimpses.
The leaked image revealed that just like its previous versions, the new HTC U12 is also going to have an 18:9 aspect ratio display screen. There is a single front camera on the top bezel of the phone.
The volume button and the power key is located on the right edge of the phone, while the bottom edge is likely to feature the USB-C charging port. As the HTC U12 is expected to feature a full-screen display, the fingerprint scanner is going to be placed on the back panel of the phone. It is not likely to feature a very different design than its predecessor.
As per rumors, the HTC U 12 is going to sport a 4K resolution display screen, and just like its predecessor, it is going to sport a metal and glass body.
It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with dual rear cameras on the rear panel of the smartphone alongside the fingerprint reader. But it is unlikely to feature the 3.5mm audio connector to attach headphones. The 4K resolution seems to be the best aspect of the phone if the rumor turns out to be true.
The HTC U 12 could follow the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and the Sony Xperia XZ Premium range of smartphones, which also feature 4K resolution when 4K contents are played on them.
All the above-mentioned information is per the leaked render which has surfaced recently. More information about the design and specs of the HTC U12 is expected to be revealed in the upcoming weeks. We are going to put up more information about the smartphone as soon as we get them.
