Vivo X20 Plus to Launch Shortly with Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor

It is a known fact that Vivo has been testing the under-display fingerprint technology which was revealed at MWC Shanghai, in June 2017. The under-display technology was first demonstrated in the Vivo XPlay 6 and is expected to launch in the Vivo XPlay 7. Along with it, Vivo is likely to launch the next generation Vivo X20 and the Vivo X20 Plus smartphones with the under-display fingerprint sensing technology. In fact, the company has already announced the X20 and the X20 Plus in China.

As of now, there is no confirmed information regarding the exact launch date of these new smartphones. As per a report by Phone Radar, they have claimed to have found out a new listing in Vivo X20 Plus UD on the 3C certification website. The UD  abbreviation is rumored to stand for the under-display technology. The Vivo X20 UD is likely to come with the same specifications of the original X20 and the X20 Plus UD could also follow the same pattern.

Coming to the specifications, the Vivo X20 sports a full AMOLED display panel with a metal unibody design with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 2160 X 1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with two variants of 4GB and 6GB RAMs. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is also topped with FunTouch OS 3.2. When it comes to the camera, the Vivo X20 and the Vivo X20 Plus have dual cameras at the rear with 24MP and 5MP sensors. At the front, it sports a 24MP moonlight selfie camera just like in other Vivo models.

The overall specifications on the Vivo‘s X20 UD and the Vivo X20 Plus UD are going to be the same as its predecessors. It may, however, only differ in terms of design and aesthetics.
