LG has announced the launch of the LG X4+, a smartphone designed specifically for use in the outdoors. The rugged design is greatly appreciated. This is not the first time that the South Korean giant has launched a rugged smartphone. The LG X Venture, for example, was launched last year designed for outdoor use. As of now, the new phone will be sold only in the native country of South Korea.
Before we go to the LG X4+ specs and features, a word on the price tag and what makes the device ideal for rugged use is expected. The device is priced at 300,000 won, a sum which translates to $280 which is approximately Rs 17,834. For now, users will be able to purchase the device from all the three major carriers in the country. Expected colors are blue and lavender-violet options, certainly colors which are not commonly available.
The specs and features of the upcoming LG X4+ are nothing to write home about, however. Onboard is a 5.3-inch HD display that boasts a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, which is decidedly mid-range. This SoC will work in tandem with 2GB of RAM besides 32GB of internal or native storage, with an option for external expansion to up to 2TB via a microSD card. The smartphone runs on the slightly-dated Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. We also spotted a fingerprint sensor placed pat on the back of the device. From what we know so far, the new LG X4+ also supports LG Pay which is the proprietary mobile payments service. Watch this space for more.
