Xiaomi Mi A1 Stopped Receiving Android 8.0 Oreo Update Owing to Bugs

Disappointment for Xiaomi Mi A1 owners! Xiaomi’s Mi A1, which initiated receiving the stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo prior to January, has been stopped owing to various bugs which marred the phone’s performance. Users reportedly faced troubling issues as soon as the device started getting the Oreo flavor.

As a result, the company, temporarily, has halted the Android Oreo update for M1 A1, which has been confirmed by news (of a screenshot) shared by the company. The company initially released the Mi A1’s Android 8.0 Oreo update on December 31 that weighs 1,104.1MB. New features were also brought in. Speaking of new and enhanced features, there were the Picture-in-Picture mode, Autofill Framework, new emojis, background limits, notification dots, Google Play protect, smart text selection, and so on. Also, Mi A1 fans were in the hope that following the update, Xiaomi Mi A1 will receive the Wireless Charging technology.

Xiaomi Mi A1’s Android 8.0 Oreo Update Stopped Rolling Out

As per resuming the Android Oreo update for the device, there’s still no confirmation on whether or not the company will resume the Android Oreo update. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the company’s first Android One smartphone and is nothing different from the previously launched Mi 5X. The only difference is that Xiaomi‘s Mi A1 is a complete Android smartphone launched with the collaboration of  Xiaomi and Google. On the contrary, the Mi 5X is a Xiaomi smartphone which runs the Android Nougat OS with MIUI 9 on top.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display screen. The device comes with an inbuilt storage space of 64GB expandable up to 128GB using the microSD card slot. Xiaomi’s Mi A1 is backed by a 3080 mAh battery. Recently, we have seen how the company offered a Special Red color variant of the device. The base model with a price tag of Rs. 14,999 was launched in India last year.
