Launched today on Indiegogo is invisaWear, a smart wearable that allows users to contact their friends, family, and the police with the press of a button. Founded by two passionate engineers, invisaWear is on a mission to bring peace of mind to women all over the world.
Most wearables are big, bulky, and limited in the ways they can be worn. invisaWear is finally bringing much needed versatility to the market. It comes in the form of a small, stylish, and discreet charm and it can be clipped to any major brand of jewelry. It can also be worn on its own as a necklace, bracelet, choker, or keychain.
How does it work? Once you’ve downloaded the free app, invisaWear will prompt you to choose 5 emergency contacts who you wish to be notified in an emergency. Then, invisaWear easily pairs with the app via bluetooth low energy, which allows invisaWear to automatically connect and stay connected with your smartphone as long as it is within a 30 foot range.
In the case of an emergency, users have a few options. A simple double-click on the device will send a text with your location to your emergency contacts. Then there is the optional “contact 9-1-1 feature,” which will connect your contacts to 911 to speak on your behalf and share your location. This feature is currently only available in the US.
invisaWear does mention that if you are in a situation where you are able to speak, they recommend using the app rather than physically dialing 911, since the app has proven to show faster and more effective response times by 1 to 5 minutes. Their proprietary patent-pending technology is powered by RapidSOS, and will share your name and location with any 911 dispatcher in the US, even if you are unaware of your own location. For those outside the US, invisaWear works internationally when you need to contact your loved ones instantly.
invisaWear is a must-have for any female who wants to be prepared for the worst case scenario.
“We created invisaWear to give peace of mind to women walking alone back to their cars, aspiring young ladies on college campuses, and anyone who wants to protect themselves and the people they love,” said Rajia Abdelaziz, CEO and Co-Founder. “We are passionate about cultivating a safer and more connected world for everyone.”
invisaWear is available for pre-sale on their Indiegogo campaign.
