The first smartphone manufacturer to unveil its flagship smartphone at MWC 2017 was LG. The tech giant announced its LG G6. Although this year at the tech show (MWC 2018), LG won’t unleash the G6’s successor, instead will announce a different version of LG V30. The latest news that surfaced online seemingly indicates that the company has apparently confirmed to launch an upgraded version of LG V30. But why an upgraded version only?
LG, with the upgraded LG V30 version, will incorporate a couple of improved and enhanced AI features. Much to the knowledge, LG has collaborated directly with Google in order to develop newer technologies. The MD of LG Electronics in South Africa, CY Kim, has confirmed the news during a press conference which held in Cape Town, reports Gizbot. The company is expected to send out press invites for the launch event anytime shortly. However, Kim hasn’t yet revealed any key specs or the name of the upgraded LG V30 version. But from the reports so far, one may expect LG to unveil the LG V30’s upgraded version in the name of LG V30 Advanced Edition. However, an earlier report by Korea Herald claims the smartphone to probably be called the “LG V30+ α”.
The VP and CEO of LG Jo Seong-jin, has directed the firm’s mobile division in order to initiate working on its upcoming flagship smartphones. The phone is reportedly get launched after April. For the ones who tend to keep an eye on every possible news regarding the LG G7 (or whatever G6 successor is expected to be called), Kim’s statement reports that the smartphone will definitely make its debut but a “little bit late”. While no other specifications of the smartphone have been revealed yet!
LG V30+, the bigger sibling of LG V30 was launched in India in the month of December last year. The smartphone features a 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone is housed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that has been teamed up with 4GB RAM. As per internal storage, the phone comes in two variants: 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. On the optics front, LG V30+ comes with a dual rear camera module with 16MP + 13MP sensors. Up front, users get a 5MP selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.2 as well as a wide-angle lens. The LG V30+ runs the Android 7.1.2 Nougat with LG UX 6.0+ on its top.
