While it was earlier predicted that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 5 at the upcoming event, newer information points out that the Chinese giant will shortly launch the Redmi Note 5 in India. So far the device has been spotted on early leaks and has recently the variant has received 3C certification in China. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will soon replace India’s “top-selling smartphone”: the Redmi Note 4. Things get clearer when we refer to the evidence spotted on the official page of Xiaomi, mi.com where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has been found with a launch event. A JavaScript code which manages the countdown timer on Xiaomi‘s official site refers to a subdirectory titled ‘redminote5’, reports NDTV Gadget360. One can even see a screenshot which the report carries. The screenshot carries the teaser of the handset with the number ‘5’, which was removed from the directory at the story’s filing time, the report says. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has been Scheduled to launch in India on February 14 The meta description of the spotted event page states, “Presenting the all rounder #GiveMe5.” Last year Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in January in the Indian markets under the presence of the Indian cricket all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Now, the word “all rounder” in the meta description indicates that it would be the successor of the previously launched Redmi Note 4. To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and supports an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor which is paired with either 3GB and an internal storage of 32GB or 4GB RAM and 64GB of native storage capacity. The device features a dual rear camera which will measure 16-megapixel rear camera sensor and the 5-megapixel front camera sensor. Up front, there would be an 8-megapixel front camera which will support 1080p video recording. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has been made available with a price tag of CNY 1,499 which is roughly Rs. 15,400 in the Indian markets.
