Talks of the next OnePlus model has been going on for a while now, and some of the rumors are seeming worthwhile. So far, devices running Android OS have been teased to feature an iPhone-X like notch with ASUS implementing the feature on its most recent ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z. While Apple is taking a U-turn and bidding adieu to its long-term technologies, Android-based OEMs are simply taking Apple’s bandwagon forward. And since the Chinese manufacturer OnePlus is in the limelight to do the same thing, OnePlus 6 is getting teased most of the times with an iPhone X-like notch.
But what the recent report has emerged, talks something pretty interesting about the OnePlus 6. And as we get closer to the leak, we come to know that OnePlus 6’s codename has been mentioned very boldly by the OxygenOS firmware. What we gather is ‘Enchilada’- the codename for OnePlus 6, alongside its predecessors’ too such as dumpling (belonging to OnePlus 5T) and cheeseburger (belonging to OnePlus).
One can take a look at the aforementioned image named as “screendecor_up_image_enchilada_1” which has been discovered in the firmware. As per the claim by the publication, OnePlus engineers might use it as the overlay for testing apps on the prototype of OnePlus 6. Also, as per the stated report, a similar image was found in the firmware files of Huawei P20 that revealed a notched display.
The OnePlus 6 is expected to house the Snapdragon 845. According to what the AnTuTu listing indicates, the phone has secured an extraordinary score of 276,510. The OP6 is also expected to arrive in two memory variants: while one will come with a 6 GB RAM plus 64 GB storage, another model will feature an 8 GB RAM plus 128 GB storage. OnePlus CEO had earlier confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will get announced in late Q2 2018. As of now, more news will emerge on the Internet, until then stay tuned to us right here.
