Vu Launches Android 4K UHD TV Series in India; Price Starts at Rs 36,999

Vu Televisions launched its first Android TV series in India yesterday. The range is called Vu Official Android TV and features three different models of 55-inch (55SU138), 49-inch (49SU131), and 43-inch (43SU128). All the three models feature 4K UHD display panels, two 10w speakers that have been integrated into the side sound bars, voice control unit and other features.

The Vu Official Android TV 55-inch model has been priced at Rs 55,999. The 49-inch model comes with a price tag of Rs 46,999, while the third variant of the 43-inch screen comes with a price tag of Rs 36,999. All the three models will be available for purchase on e-commerce portal Flipkart and official Vu online stores from March 16 onwards. The models have been competitively priced to compete with Mi TV 4 series that was launched in India recently. However, at the launch event, Devita Saraf, Vu Televisions CEO and Design Head said that the company does not want to compete with Xiaomi and also termed the Chinese company as a “low-end brand”.

The new Android TV series runs on Android 7.0 Smart OS and features in-built Google apps and the Play store along with Youtube and Netflix. Other in-built apps include Facebook, Hotstar, ALT Balaji and Sony Liv. The three models also feature Activoice voice control enabled remote control that enables users to search, browse and select in 88 languages using voice commands. It also offers built-in Google Chromecast support.

Coming to the specifications, all the three models come with 4K UHD displays with a resolution of 3840 X 2160 pixels and DLED lit IPS panels with 60Hz refresh rate, 8-bit color panel, and 450-nit brightness levels.

All the models are powered by quad-core processors with 2.5GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage space. They also offer Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth, and Ethernet connectivity options. Apart from that, they all feature three HDMI ports, two USB ports, one S/PDIF port, 3.5mm headphone connector port, one AV component port and one RF input. They also offer DTS TruSurround and Dolby Digital audio support with two 10w speakers.
