LG has started rolling out a new software update for the LG V30 smartphone in the US. These features were already rolled out to the LG V30+ a couple of months back.

As of now, the update is only available to select Verizon customers in the US with a global rollout likely in the coming days. Users can manually check for the update by diving to Settings > About Phone > Software updates > Check for Update > Download Now. After the download is completed, users can install the update. However, it is recommended to connect the device to a reliable and safe Wifi connection or a stable mobile data connection prior to the update. The battery level should also be a minimum of 50% before the update.

To talk about the new features, the software update brings the AI Camera to the LG V30. It is claimed by the company that the AI Camera can analyze subjects in the frame and recommend four different filters to the user depending on the light and the image conditions. The filters combine multiple factors like contrast, brightness, saturation and color to provide recommendations.

The software update also brings a revamped design to the boot screen of the LG V30. After the update, the screen will display LG V30 ThinQ instead of just V30. Apart from that, the update also rolls out the Android Security Patch for the month of March 2018.

To recollect the specifications, the LG V30 features a 6-inch QHD+ OLED Full Vision display with HDR support. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM. On the camera front, the device features a dual rear camera module with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with LED flash. On the front, it features a 5-megapixel camera. It is fueled by 3,300mAh non-removable battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo after the company rolled out the latest update a few months back.
