Gmail Rolls out ‘Smart Unsubscribe’ Feature to its iOS App; Android to Follow Soon

Gmail which is the email service platform of Google recently rolled out a host of new features to improve the experience of the users. Along with a revamped design, the new Gmail includes a slew of new features and functionalities. These features were announced at the Google I/O 2018 event and subsequently rolled out to the platform.

Google further announced that it will be rolling out some more new features like Smart Reply, Confidential Mode, Nudging, native Offline Support and more. Some of these features have already been rolled out to Gmail in the last couple of weeks.

Now, the tech giant has announced that it will be rolling out the Smart Unsubscribe feature to its Gmail mobile app soon.  In fact, the feature has already been released on the iOS version of the app and the Android version is likely to receive the same very soon.

The Smart Unsubscribe feature is expected to categorize the emails systematically and also recommend a mailing list based on preferences from where the user can unsubscribe if he/she wants. Google has also claimed that the new feature will also suggest newsletters to the users. This new feature is expected to provide a better experience to the users and also help them to sort their inbox properly and systematically.

As Gmail is one of the largest e-mail clients with millions of users worldwide, the addition of this new feature along with AI capabilities will surely provide a better user satisfaction and also improve the company’s reputation.

All iOS users can use the new feature now as it has already been rolled out on Gmail for iOS. The Android version of Gmail is also expected to receive this feature soon and it remains to be seen what more the company wants to introduce to its e-mail platform to improve the overall user experience even further.
