Since the last few weeks, the Lenovo Z5 which is an upcoming smartphone from the Chinese tech giant has been on the news courtesy of some leaks. The smartphone is expected to arrive with some never seen before features thanks to a couple of teasers that were released last week. Now, the company has finally confirmed the launch date of the new device. The Lenovo Z5 will be launched on June 5 at a launch event scheduled to be held in Beijing.
Lenovo has confirmed the June 5 launch date on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo and has also released a poster with the event details and date. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 pm CST (11.30 am IST) on June 5.
As per teasers released earlier, the Lenovo Z5 is expected to arrive with a bezel-less display screen without a notch feature. Also, the camera samples released some days ago indicate that the device may sport an AI-assisted camera module on the rear panel. The smartphone is also expected to come with a massive 4TB of storage, making it the first smartphone in the world to feature such a large secondary memory. Chang Cheng, VP of Lenovo has also claimed that with such a large memory, the smartphone can store up to 2000 HD movies, 150,000 music files, and more than 1 million photos.
A new teaser has also claimed that the Lenovo Z5 can offer up to 45 days of standby time, thanks to its massive battery. However, it remains to be seen how long the battery can last with voice calls, video calls, and web browsing. Also, another factor that we are keen to know is the price at which the company decides to sell the smartphone. As of now, however, no information on the pricing front is available. We guess we will have to wait until June 5 to know the pricing details and the availability of the handset.
