Samsung Galaxy J8 to be Available in India from June 28

South Korean tech giant Samsung had launched the Galaxy J8 mid-range smartphone last month. It had also confirmed then that the smartphone would go on sale in India from June 20. However, that didn’t happen and speculations were doing the rounds that the availability may be delayed. Now, the company has formally confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy J8 will go on sale from June 28.

Samsung made the announcement on its official Twitter handle. The tweet posted by the company also shows the Background Blur Shape feature that will allow the users to blur the background for using the Bokeh mode and will also let them choose the shape in which blurred objects in the background would appear. Some of the other key features of the Samsung Galaxy J8 include a Super AMOLED full HD display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and will also include the Face Unlock feature.

Regarding the price of the Galaxy J8, the company has set a price tag of Rs 18,990. The phone will be available only in one variant of 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage space. The smartphone will be available in three color variants of Blue, Black, and Gold. The device will be available for purchase on the Samsung India e-store for now as other sales channels have not be revealed yet.

Coming to the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy J8, the device features a 6-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM.

On the optics front, it features a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it features another 16-megapixel sensor for taking selfies. Both the front and the rear cameras are equipped with an LED flash.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, micro USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is also equipped with Samsung Mall and Samsung Pay functionalities for making shopping online and making payments easily at one go.
