Samsung is expected to launch a new mid-range smartphone in India today. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy On6, the device may go on sale exclusively via e-commerce site Flipkart today. Notably, the device was tipped to get launched by many reports earlier and Flipkart also started teasing the handset since last week. While not much is known so far about the handset, it is tipped to feature a full-screen Super AMOLED Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The company has roped in Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff to become the brand ambassador of the Samsung Galaxy On6.
A short teaser of the handset shared by Flipkart earlier shows the rear camera setup which appears to feature a single sensor with an LED flash. The teaser also shows the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the device. Apart from that IANS sources had earlier claimed that the Galaxy On6 may cost around Rs 15,000 for the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of inbuilt storage space.
The device is also tipped to feature an Infinity Display panel and may be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos processors. The device may also boast the Chat on Video feature that allows the users to use WhatsApp or Messages while watching a video on the pre-installed video app or YouTube. Additionally, it may also feature the Samsung Mall feature for a one-stop online shopping experience.
To recall, the South Korean tech giant had launched four new mid-range smartphones in India in May. It includes the Samsung Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8, Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+. All these devices feature a Super AMOLED Infinity Display screen with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. While the Samsung Galaxy J6 and the Galaxy A6 runs on Exynos processors, the other variants are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Apart from that, all the devices run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
