BSNL Extends Monsoon Offer to Provide 2GB Additional Data to Prepaid Users

To challenge Reliance Jio, state-owned BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has extended its Monsoon Offer that provides 2GB of additional data to the prepaid users. This offer with additional data benefits will be available with 10 of its popular prepaid packs till September 15. To recall, the Monsoon Offer was launched back in June to challenge Reliance Jio.

The offer is applicable to prepaid recharges of various denominations like Rs 186, Rs 429, Rs 485, Rs 666 and Rs 999. The offer is also available with prepaid recharges of Rs 187, Rs 333, Rs 349, Rs 444 and Rs 448.

As per Telecom Talk, BSNL’s Monsoon Offer arrived with a validity of 60 days on a pan India scale and now, the company has decided to extend the validity until September 15, 2018. This offer will provide additional 2GB data per day over the daily limit of all individual prepaid recharge packs. For example, the Rs 186 prepaid recharge pack will now offer 3GB of daily data instead of 1GB with a validity of 28 days. Similarly, the Rs 444 prepaid pack will now offer 4GB of daily data instead of 2GB over a validity period of 60 days.

Along with the data benefits, the BSNL plan also offers unlimited local, STD and roaming call benefits without any FUP limits and 100 SMS messages per day. This plan is available in all the circles of the country where BSNL operates. However, it should be noted that BSNL currents have 3G network support in some circles of the country instead of high-speed 4G connectivity. So the users in those circles will have to use 3G connectivity to use this plan.

This move by BSNL is likely to counter Reliance Jio which extended its Double Dhamaka Offer on June 30 to offer 1.5GB of additional data to the users. Another advantage of Reliance Jio is that it offers 4G VoLTE connectivity, unlike BSNL’s outdated 3G connectivity.
