HTC U12 Life with 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 660 Spotted on Geekbench Just Ahead of Launch

HTC is likely to launch the HTC U12 Life smartphone at an event slated to happen on August 30 just ahead of the IFA 2018. The smartphone has been spotted a number of times in the past few weeks via leaked renders and reports. Now just ahead of its launch, the smartphone has made its way to the benchmarking website of Geekbench where some performance results and specifications have been found to be listed. The smartphone is expected to arrive with a price tag of $349 and will be launched this week.

According to the Geekbench listing, first spotted by Dutch website Mobielkopen, the HTC U12 Life is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. This is different from earlier reports, which had claimed that the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. The smartphone has received a score of 1343 in the single-core test and 4897 in the multi-core test. Although the Geekbench scores are no longer used to measure the performance of upcoming smartphones, the test results do indicate that it is a going to be a powerful device and will compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung.

As per earlier reports, the HTC U12 Life is expected to arrive with dual-SIM support and may also become the first HTC device to run on Android 9 Pie out of the box. It is likely to feature a 6-inch full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080 X 2160 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. It may feature 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage space.

On the optics front, the HTC U12 Life is expected to sport a dual camera setup on the rear panel with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it may feature a 13-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. It is likely to be powered by a 3,600mAh battery under the hood.
