The Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected to be unveiled in India on August 21 and now just ahead of its launch, the Nokia 6.1 or Nokia 6 (2018) has received a price cut in the country. The Nokia 6.1 was launched globally at the MWC 2018 held in February and subsequently made it to India. Later, in the month of May 2018, HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia smartphones launched another variant of the device. Now, as per reports, both the variants have received a price cut of Rs 1,500.
The Nokia 6.1 or Nokia 6 (2018) was launched in India in a single variant of 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage space. The device came with a price tag of Rs 16,999. Later, HMD Global launched another variant of the device with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The price was set at Rs 18,999 which was marginally higher than the 3GB variant. Now after receiving the price cut of Rs 1,500, the 3GB RAM variant costs Rs 15,499 while the 4GB RAM variant of the Nokia 6.1 costs Rs 17,499. The new price of the two devices has already been updated on the Nokia India website.
Talking about the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the device is expected to be unveiled at a launch event scheduled on August 21. As per a report by NokiaPowerUser, the global variants of Nokia 6.1 Plus will arrive with model numbers TA-1116, TA-1103, and TA-1083 and these have already appeared on Bluetooth and WiFi certification websites.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus is an Android One smartphone that was first launched in Hong Kong last month with a price tag of HKD 2,288 (Rs 20,000 approximately). The Chinese variant of the smartphone dubbed as Nokia X6 was launched in China with a price tag of CYN 1,299 for the 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant were priced at CYN 1,499 while the premium 6GB RAM variant with 64GB storage was priced at CYN 1,899. The price details of Nokia 6.1 Plus in India has not been revealed yet.
