Xiaomi Mi A2 Red Edition Now Available in India

Xiaomi has announced the launch of a new red edition Mi A2 smartphone in India. The smartphone is now available for purchase in the country exclusively via Amazon India and Mi.com. Notably, the smartphone was first launched in the country in August and was available in four color options of Lake Blue, Rose Gold, Black, and Gold. Key specifications of the smartphone include Snapdragon 660 SoC, vertically stacked dual rear cameras and an enhanced RAM capacity.

The announcement was made via a tweet by Xiaomi’s Global Vice President Manu Kumar Jain on Twitter. It may be recalled that the Mi A2 was available in the country in four color options until now via Mi.com and the company’s ecommerce partner Amazon India.

Coming to the price, the Red color variant of the Mi A2 comes with the same price of Rs 16,999 like the other variants. The device comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage space. Notably, a premium variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage was also announced by the company but there is no news about its availability in the country until now.

To recall the specifications, the Xiaomi Mi A2 sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 X 2160 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of inbuilt storage space.

On the imaging front, the Xiaomi Mi A2 features a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it features another 20-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling. All the three cameras are powered by Sony lenses. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery under the hood that comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ and the smartphone runs on a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo as it is a part of the Android One program of Google.
