Lenovo S5 Pro with Notch Display and Dual Front Cameras Launched

Lenovo has launched a new mid-range smartphone in China and is expected to make it available globally in the coming days. Called Lenovo S5 Pro, the smartphone becomes the successor to Lenovo S5 launched last year and features a notch style full HD+ display with dual front-facing cameras. The smartphone was previously reported to launch on October 18, 2018. Priced at 1,298 Yuan ($187 approximately), the smartphone will be available for purchase in China from today October 23.

Coming to the specifications, the Lenovo S5 Pro features a 6.18-inch full HD+ display with a resolution of 2246 X 1080 pixels and 18.7:9 aspect ratio and a display notch on the top. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. It features 6GB RAM and is available in two variants of 64GB and 128GB in terms of inbuilt storage. The internal storage is further upgradable with a micro-SD card up to 256GB.

On the optics front, the Lenovo S5 Pro features a dual camera setup on the rear panel with a 20-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.6 aperture accompanied by an LED flash. The rear cameras are equipped with AI capabilities and 2x loss-less optical zoom support. The cameras can also be used to record videos at 1080p HD resolution. On the front, it also features a dual camera setup with a 20-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor. The front cameras are equipped with an infrared powered Face Unlock feature and AI capabilities.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ac, GPS/AGPS, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. It is fueled by a 3,500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging via USB Type-C. The smartphone runs on ZUI 5.0 based Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The Lenovo S5 Pro is currently available in three colour options of Blue, Black and Gold.
