Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the first smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker to be powered by the 7nm Huawei Hisilicon Kirin 980 SoC is set to launch in India on November 27. The company has already started sending media invites for a launch event to be held in the country on November 27. Although it is yet to reveal which device is going to be launched on that day, the iconic headlight style rear camera design is being shown which indicates the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Interestingly, Huawei had earlier announced that it would be bringing wireless charging capabilities with the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and an Amazon India listing page had indicated that the smartphone would be available exclusively on Amazon India. It may be recalled that the smartphone was launched at an event in London in the month of October.
Coming to the pricing aspect of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, It has a starting price of EUR 1,049 (Rs 88,400 approximately) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage space. Further, an 8GB model with 256GB of inbuilt storage has been listed on the official site of Huawei although the pricing details are yet to be revealed. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro price in India is expected to be in line with the international market and it would compete with the new Apple iPhone launched for the high-end market in the country.
To recall the specifications of the smartphone, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a 6.39-inch QHD+ curved OLED display with a resolution of 1440 X 3120 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of inbuilt storage space. The internal storage can be further upgraded with a micro-SD card.
On the optics front, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a triple camera setup on the rear panel similar to the one found on the Huawei P20 Pro. It has a 40-megapixel wide-angle primary sensor, a 20-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor, and an 8-megapixel 3X telephoto lens. On the front, it features a 24-megapixel RGB selfie camera with 3D facial unlocking support. It is powered by a 4,200mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging. The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
