According to the internal reports, Xiaomi Mi 5 will be launched on 24th February in China although the consumers can only buy this device after one week of the official inauguration.

On an updated news from China; Xiaomi is going to release the latest flagship Mi 5 in four variants. According to the new reports from the internal sources working on this project,the Chinese company will release the Mi 5 in four versions, two of them will come with full-metal body and two will come with all glass body.
The first metal body variant will come with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB inbuilt storage while the other metal framed version will sport 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage capacity.
On the other hand, the difference lies in the internal storage capacity for the glass models. The regular glass model will come with 32 GB internal storage where as the premium version will sport 64 GB of internal memory.

Design
The all new Xiaomi Mi 5 is very sleek in design and has some resemblance with the Samsung Galaxy S6 as the Mi 5’s screen is also curving towards the sides of the phone. This latest flagship device from Xiaomi will come with a full metal body and a plastic stripe, which is must in every metal bodied phone, placed at the top of the device so that the phone has better signal reception. According to the sources related with this project, Xiaomi Mi 5 is believed to sport a 5.2 inch screen. As we said above, the company will launch two Mi 5 variants, the metal variants will come with Full HD 2K display, including 1080 X 1920 pixel resolution and curved 3D-glass back. While the glass model is supposedly flaunt a similar design but will come with a full 2K QHD display having 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution,565 PPI and 2.5D curved glass back.

Xiaomi Mi 5 is going to run on the company’s very own OS MIUI 7 based on the Android v 6.0 Marshmallow. Another notable feature of the Xiaomi Mi 5 is that the device will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. As we said before, the handset will be released in two versions; one variant will be packed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage and the premium version will offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory to its customers. This brand new Snapdragon 820 SoC consists of Kryo CPU, X12 LTE modem, Adreno 530 GPU, Hexagon Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and Qualcomm’s Spectra ISP and is expected to produce twice the performance of the Snapdragon 810 chipset.
Camera
Xiaomi Mi 5 is going to feature a whopping 16 mega pixel shooter supported by dual –LED flash on its rear end as the primary camera of the phone. The rear camera will be supported by the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology and will offer laser auto-focus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, HDR and other features to its consumers. The back camera is also capable of HD video recording and capturing videos at the rate of 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 720p@240fps. Also there will be an 13 mega pixel secondary front facing camera included in the handset for taking better selfies.
The company president Bin Lin today posted two new images on his Weibo account, which are the first official camera sample of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5. Both the photos have been clicked on a beach, and in both the cases the subject was a flying bird. Apart from that, both the images show the beach and the other elements on the background. On the first case, the image might have been undergone compression during the process of uploading to the Weibo, but still the image and the camera quality seems very impressive. As we said the second image reflects the same subject too but this time taken on with slightly zoomed in.
If we talk about the technical abilities of these images, the way the camera captured a moving object (the bird in the mid-flight) it proves that the Mi 5’s camera comes with fast autofocus feature and the optical image stabilization capability. That means the rumors reverberating around the web that the Xiaomi Mi 5’s camera will include laser autofocus technology and optical image stabilization, are true. Also there is no blurry part or noisy areas visible in the images that prove the faster and reliable object tracking and accurate focus times of the camera. On the other hand the first glass model with 32 GB internal memory is rumored to be priced at CNY 2,799 (approximately Rs. 29,000), while the other glass model with 64 GB internal storage capacity will cost us CNY 3,099 (approximately Rs. 32,000).
Xiaomi Mi 5 Release Date
Xiaomi officially confirmed that they will launch the Mi 5 on the company’s Spring Festival event which is on 24th February. Also, the Global VP of the company Hugo Barra confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be showcased at one of the world’s largest tech expo, Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.
