The Samsung Galaxy S8 has already been a huge success globally and it is no surprise that the upcoming successor to this device, the Samsung Galaxy S9, should be in the news as well. Now, we hear that the Galaxy S9 device will have a modular design, meaning that each part of the device will be independently upgradeable and that each part will be unique in nature, in the sense that each part might be customized on its own.
This modular design philosophy is best reflected by Motorola, which has the MotoMod feature. This feature ensures that separate parts can be attached on to the main body of the phones. So, the users can install a separate camera module or a bigger battery module to enhance the available amount of juice. The recently launched Essential Phone too has a modular design.
Apart from today’s tidbit, we know that the new Samsung Galaxy S9 will snare the initial supplies of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processors, something that we had reported yesterday. This essentially means that the Galaxy S9 device will have a 5.77-inch display and the bigger Galaxy S9+, or the S9 Plus, will ship with a 6.22-inch display.
