ZTE Starts Rolling Out Android Oreo Update for Axon 7

You may be aware that ZTE has recently rolled out the latest Android Oreo beta update for its flagship Axon 7 smartphone in the US. Now the company has started to roll out the stable version of the Android Oreo update for its users in China.

The Axon 7 was launched by ZTE at the beginning of last year in China with Android 6.0 Marshmallow version out of the box and was later upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat version. Now, finally, it is all set to receive the Android Oreo update.

The new update will bring a host of new features like the picture-in-picture mode, which would enable the users to perform two tasks at the same time. For example, you may minimize a Youtube video, to send an important text or even a Whatsapp message to your friend or colleague. Google has also included Android Vitals in the update, which helps to optimize battery life, reboot time and more. The update also brings better system optimization for faster and smoother running of the device.

One of the major highlights of this new update is the notification dots feature, which is like tiny chat heads for notifications. The user may now long press on a particular notification dot, to get a preview of the notification without having to open the message to check it out. The users can then choose to ignore the message if it is not important by swiping it off the screen. The new update also brings onboard a new type of autofill framework for fasting filling up of forms with user data and a better ‘remember password’ feature. Users would no longer require remembering all their passwords as Google is going to do the job for you.

Users may check for the new update by diving into Settings > About Phone> System Updates. The system would then check for the new update.
