Samsung Galaxy A9 Specifications Leaked Just Ahead of Launch on October 11

South Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to launch a new smartphone that will feature four cameras on its rear panel. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy A9 or Galaxy A9 Star Pro, it is going to become the first smartphone from the company to feature a quadruple rear camera module. Samsung has already scheduled an event on October 11 where the device is expected to get announced. With just a week to go for the launch event, a new report has surface detailing the specifications of the upcoming smartphone.

The report has been shared by a German blog AllAboutSamsung and it also shows an image of the alleged Samsung Galaxy A9. However, the render seems to be a concept image rather than an official one. As per the report, the Samsung Galaxy A9 is expected to sport a 6.28-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 X 2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The device is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage space. The internal storage can be further upgraded to a maximum of 512GB.

The major highlight of the upcoming Galaxy A9 is going to be the quadruple rear camera module. The report states that the device will feature a 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 5-megapixel depth sensor with live focus and f/2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a fourth 10-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom capabilities. On the front, the device will feature an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/1.7 aperture for taking selfies and video calling.

The report further states that the Samsung Galaxy A9 will sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and will be powered by a 3,720mAh battery under the hood that will support fast charging. The device may run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
