Poco has been one of the best value sub-brands of Xiaomi in recent days. It had taken the whole mid-range smartphone segment upside down by launching a device powered by the Snapdragon 845 a year ago and till then SD 845 was the supreme quality processor and getting the same processor which were available on flagship-class devices only on Poco and that too within the budget of 20k in India was something extraordinary. That’s why the device got sold like a hot pancake and within a few days, it broke a few records and got established as a proper brand.
After the exit of a top executive in its product design group, Xiaomi India may kill the brand and recently it has introduced its new sub-brand Redmi in the mid-range segment and it may continue the same brand and probably that’s why there is no update regarding the Poco brand. A rumor got some fume up when there was a chance to get Poco F2 in the market but we got the leaked renders only and that too a few months ago, Xiaomi might have discontinued the product line up already and emphasizing on its new Redmi line up properly.
Even the CEO of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain couldn’t reply firmly about the future of the Poco brand and that triggered a lot and we are expecting a proper winding up of the brand by this year. Stay tuned.
