Chinese tech giant Huawei has ultimately started teasing the launch of its upcoming phablet, the Mate 8, which is expected to be unveiled in a grand manner on November 26. Huawei shared the teaser via Weibo , the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, confirming the launch event of Mate 8 device.
The unannounced Huawei Mate 8 is expected to ship with the company’s home brew Kirin 950 SoC, which will reportedly be the company’s chipset for the high-end devices. This chipset promises to deliver unprecedented power thanks to a 16nm FinFET production process and the big.LITTLE architecture. With four Cortex-A72 cores running at 2.2 GHz or perhaps even 2.4 GHz and another four Cortex-A53 ones, clocked at 2.0 GHz this handset believed to be a power packed and superfast phone.
In another leaked image posted by an employee of Foxconn, in whose factory the Mate 8 is reportedly being assembled, Huawei’s yet-to-be-unveiled Mate 8 was pictured purportedly showing the metal frame of the handset and promises to be a metal clad giant like it’ s predecessor Mate 7. Along with the metal chassis, this device will come with a round finger scanner on the back, matching the camera lens shape. In other leaked images, Huawei Mate 8’s SIM card tray can also be visible alongside microSD card slot.

The bundled GPU used in the Huawei Mate 8 is the impressive ARM Mali-T880, which should also be backed by an i7 coprocessor and a Tensilica Hi-Fi 4 independent audio chip. The GFXBench sheet also includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity (well 3.7GB and 53GB, to be precise) and previous info also hinted about a less powerful 3GB version, with 32GB of bundled space.
