QiKU Q Terra Smartphone: The joint venture of the renowned Chinese internet service provider Qihoo 360 and the smartphone maker Coolpad launched their first flagship handset QiKU Q Terra in the Indian market. The handset will be up for sale exclusively through Gadgets 360 and will be available from 5th December. Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad made their debut in India back in May this year with the launch of the basic-level Dazen 1 smartphone and the high range Dazen X7, which was another joint venture with the internet giant Qihoo 360.But with the Q Terra, the brand “QiKU” unveiled themselves and also became the latest Chinese smartphone making company to enter the ever growing Indian market.
QiKU Q Terra Features
As Q Terra is a flagship device, thus it offers some interesting and cool features. Inclusion of the latest fingerprint technology in this price range could be proven as the most selling point of the handset. The QiKU Q Terra is made of magnesium and aluminum, is 8.6 mm thick and weighs 185 gm. The phone sports a 6 inch Full HD sharp IPS display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution and 386 ppi pixel density. Q Terra comes with a 2.5 curved glass, 1.4 mm thin side bezel and the display is secured by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Under the hood, QiKU Q Terra houses Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon MSM8992 808 SoC clocked at 2GHz with Adreno 418 GPU and coupled with3GB of RAM. The phone provides 16GB of internal storage with support for further additional storage up to 128GB through microSD card. QiKU Q Terra runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based Qihoo 360 OS and according to the company claims will get the Android Marshmallow update soon.
On the camera aspect, the QiKU Q Terra flaunts dual 13-megapixel rear cameras (13MP colour 1.8 aperture + 13MP mono 1.8 aperture) with dual-tone LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, and features like ‘Fast Focus’ (as fast as 0.1 seconds), geo-tagging, and support for 4K video recording. One 13-megapixel sensor (Sony IMX278) shoots a normal colour image, while the second (Sony IMX214 Mono) takes a black and white image. When combined, the company claims the resultant image produces better colour accuracy. QiKU Q Terra offers an 8-megapixel front facing camera too with f/2.4 aperture. The secondary camera is capable of capturing videos in full-HD resolution.
