Xiaomi Launched the Redmi 3 Pro with Fingerprint Sensor, 3 GB RAM & 4100mAh Battery in China

The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched the upgraded version of the Redmi 3 smartphone on Tuesday, dubbed as the Redmi 3 Pro. Redmi 3 Pro or the “high version “ features almost the same specs as its previous version but has upgraded in the inbuilt storage, memory aspect and sensor areas.

Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro Released in China

Although the previous version of the Redmi 3 was priced at 699 CNY while launched but this latest Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro has been priced at 899 CNY (approximately Rs. 9,000) and will be up for sale from the next month in China.

The all new Redmi 3 Pro will come in three color variants; Grey, Gold and Silver. The Chinese company has not confirmed yet the availability of this latest variant of Redmi 3 in India but the first flash sale in China will kick in from April 6.

As we have mentioned before the specifications of the Redmi 3 Pro and Redmi 3 are almost identical apart from the RAM, storage and sensor options. Xiaomi has incorporated the fingerprint sensor option in this upgraded version of the Redmi 3 which was missing in the earlier version. The Redmi 3 Pro sports a 5-inch FHD IPS display with 720×1280 pixels resolution and houses an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, with four cores clocked at 1.2GHz, and four cores at 1.5GHz, under the hood.

Unlike the original Redmi 3, which included 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, this upgraded Redmi 3 Pro sports 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, Adreno 405 GPU and a 32GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

On the other hand, just like its predecessor; Redmi 3 Pro also comes with a 4100mAh non-removable battery, which is the main USP of this amazing device. The handset runs on company’s very own MIUI 7 OS with the Android Lollipop v5.1.1 skinned top of it. Though the Chinese company has not revealed whether the Redmi 3 Pro will get the latest Marshmallow update or not; but it is very likely that the device will get the update very soon.

On the camera aspect, the Redmi 3 Pro flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied by f/ 2.2 aperture, LED flash, PDAF autofocus, and also assists 1080p full-HD video recording. Not only that, the handset comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing secondary camera as well for the selfie-maniacs and this front-camera also supports full-HD recording.

If we talk about the connectivity options of the dual-SIM supported Redmi 3 Pro, it comes with a hybrid SIM slot with one slot supporting Micro-SIM and the other one Nano-SIM; along with microSD card.

The device also facilitates it users with 4G LTE connectivity with supports for the LTE bands in India, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth, Glonass, GPRS/ EDGE, Micro-USB, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The Redmi 3 Pro only weighs 144 grams and measures 139.3×69.6×8.5mm
