At the MWC 2016 last month, ZTE had launched two mid-range ‘Blade’ smartphones Blade V7 and Blade V7 Lite and now that have unveiled another handset in the series named Blade D2. As of now, the company is yet to launch the phone but it’s available for purchase at their website priced at VND 2,690,000 which is approximately $120/Rs. 8,100. The handset is available in Thailand and Vietnam only. The significant feature of the device is its powerful 4000 mAh battery and the curved edges and a removable polycarbonate back cover. The device will be available in White and Black colors. Other than these the device comes with only some basic features.
HTC Blade D2 Features
The HTC Blade D2 comes with a sophisticate designed frame and a plastic body. The phone measures 144.00 x 69.50 x 8.00 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 155.00 grams. It features a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels. The handset runs on 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6735P processor clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage memory that can be expanded up to 64GB via MicroSD card. It runs on 5-megapixel primary camera on the rear with autofocus and LED flash and a 2-megapixel front shooter for selfies and video calls. The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and supports single SIM (GSM) along with connectivity features like 4G LTE (with Indian Band), Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Micro-USB connectivity. As for the sensors, the device includes Proximity sensor, Accelerometer.
Now coming back to the incredibly powerful battery, the company claim that the device can be used as a battery charger for other smartphones. In past we have seen other handsets with similar battery capacity like in the Xolo Era 4K, Xiaomi Redmi 3, Huawei Y6 Pro, Gionee Marathon M5 Mini and others.

To recall, the Blade V7 and Blade V7 Lite are both excellent devices that were showcased and launched along with ZTE’s high end series – Nubia and Axon. In the United States, the ZTE has a market share of 7%, coming fourth only next to Apple, Samsung, and LG. According to latest gathered informations, the ZTE devices faces some restriction on importing components and software from the U.S. The primary reason is that in Iran, components imported from U.S. is strictly prohibited. The Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation is a Chinese multinational that is also regarded as the fourth largest mobile manufacturer in the world. Its a telecommunications equipment and systems company and they are also original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
This budget-friendly handset might hit more locations in the future but as of now the company hasn’t said when the handset will be made available in other countries. ZTE Blade D2 is a minimal device that offers only some basic features. Opposed to Blade V7 and Blade V7 Lite that offers Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 & 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC processors. The phone is a budget buy although, by adding a few more coins one can get a better device. The decision to buy is left upon our readers.
